I am trying to gain access to root in order to use wifi tethering app using DroidXRoot. It is dated. 7/27/2010 and came with windows driver 4.6.0. I have a newer driver but it did not seem to work. I am on 64 bit Vista. When I click continue and toggle bluetoothe I get a failure notification. Side note is there any linux drivers and apps such as a terminal that I can use to make admin changes once rooted?

Two things. One, you can root your device using z4root or SuperOneClick. Two, you can root your device using the link in my signature for manual rooting.

    Good luck.
