Recently my Droid has been a bit sluggish and I wanted to do a wipe and reflash of gpa14. I'm currently running gpa14 with Pete's 1.2 kernal.
I booted into cm recovery and all it does is freeze up a few seconds in and reboots. I tried the trick of holding x during the reboot in cm which has always worked before but still didn't this time.
The next thing I tried was so recovery flashed through rom manager. So doesn't reboot but just plain wont mount SD card or function at all for wiping or clearing cache just says can't mount.
So I Downloaded rz recovery (I'm sure I'm writing the name wrong I'm sorry it's 6 in the morn and been up since 4) but the problem I have is I can't get clockwork or so to work to even install it.
My Droid is creaping to a halt at the moment and would like a fresh install any help would be great. Oh yeah everything worked fine before I tried gpa15 and restored a backup to gpa14 because 15 didn't like my phone.

I have had problems rebooting into recovery from ROM manager even before I loaded GPA14. Every time RM came out with a new release, I had to do an uninstall/reinstall. However, I tried something last night that worked for me when I loaded the latest update. Try flashing ClockworkMod recovery. Don't reboot. Flash alternate recovery (SPRecovery). Don't try to reboot. Then, go up and reflash ClockworkMod Recovery again and try to reboot into recovery.

i tried that but "an error occured while flashing SPrecovery" which had to force close. I did fix permissions.

Try flashing an older version of Clockwork Recovery (the option is further down in ROM Manager, I believe. If that works, then re-flash the latest and try it again.

I tried the older to newer version tried just leaving it with so recovery and tried numerous battery pulles and in clockwork it keeps saying can't mount SD and reboots and in sp it just says can't mount.
If I flash the rzrecovery sbf will I
lose everything on my phone? I just don't want to lose root but as it sits I can't even change roms if I needed to

Can you access your SDCard with Astro or Root Explorer or something like that?

Yeah, that's what's weird. I can use astro oi and root explorer without problem. Its just when. It comes to recovery I can't access it.

I just tried to fix permissions in rom manager (about the only reason I keep it on my phone lol) and it started working perfectly.

I cant seem to do anything with this. I jad been running SPrecovery for a year with no issues, installed the premium version of this clockwork, and now I am stuck. The first line in Rom Mgr says Rom Mgr premium v3.0.1.7, then under recovery it says current recovery is 2.5.0.1, but I cant get to a different version, or to SPRecovery.

Try uninstalling ROM Manager and then doing a fresh install from the market and see if you can revert to SPR and/or Clockwork.
