Put the phone in the bootloader and follow the directions in that thread to install the SBF and then install the update.zip -- which you have renamed update.zip and moved to the root of the SD card.

and i can name it and move it through to the root using astro correct? (simple questions just to make sure i dont mess up AGAIN like i did last week lol)

Right.

Actually, sometimes people have to rename it through Astro because their PCs won't cooperate.

through RSD lite isnt there a way you, find a master OTA file, and install can change the build of the phone (like going back to FRG22D)

and then maybe using a program like z4root to root your phone?

(just being vurious thats all)

You could, but you'd start getting udpate nag screens pretty quickly. But if you're already using RSD Lite, why not just do this?

If you REALLY wanted to do it that way, though, I'd recommend going back to 01B or even ESE81 to root and ROM and whatnot.

Right. Then make sure it shows up in RSD Lite, load the SBF via the ... button, and then flash the file onto the phone following the instructions in that thread and this one.

alright so after i "catch the boot" and get the PASS can i unplug my phone from the usb or do i leave it plugged in?

Once you get a PASS you have FINISHED.

Reboot IMMEDIATELY into recovery, do not pass go, do not collect $200, do not let it boot into the OS. Install that update.zip to root and fix SPRecovery in memory and you are rooted, with SPRecovery, and can ROM, flash kernels, etc.
