Does anyone know of an app that will display in large print the missed calls or voice messages on the home screen when the phone is docked in the multimedia station?

Found an app called Missed Call but it doesn't do what I want... nor did the LED notification work.

I want to be able to walk in the room and glance at the screen to see if anyone called without having to look for the tiny icon indicators.

Thanks from a newbie!

It would be detrimental to your battery life to have an app that will keep anything displayed on the phones screen at all times.

Even with apps such as Handcent SMS that have pop-ups over the lock screen... they only stay visible for the duration of the screen time out. It will go back to sleep after that.

Okay, but if it is plugged into the multiimedia docking station it's not on battery power. Couldn't someone write an app for that purpose??

How about an app that has a flashing LED that works?

LauncherPro has this option to show a phone icon in the dock area. This will show the number of missed calls. It can also show the number of unopened messages in Gmail and the number of unread text messages. Check it out in the apps Market.

Setting Profiles can take various actions when you miss a call, including starting programs. You could probably get one of those colored flashlight programs and have Setting Profiles start that up when you miss a call. There is a Lite Setting Profiles if you want to try before you buy.

EDIT: Or, it would take some work, but since it looks like you can set an individual missed call condition for each contact, you could send yourself a customized SMS that Handcent or whatever would cause to pop up.
