Native app vs HTML5

I know the idea is to have an app available to the most users, and that could be done with a crossplatform app based on HTML5, but still native apps have are preferred by users... should I keep trying to make my app on HTML5 or just focus on a single platform?

Any comments would be appreciated

Is it a web based app, or a standalone app? Are you planning to call the HTML5 from withing the Java framework, or embed it in a URL remotely?
