I'm trying to restore a Nandroid backup that I made prior to installing the Bugless Beast rom. However, when I try to restore the backup, I get the following error:

    Nandroid exited with status 28

The BCDMRS folder is in my Nandroid folder. Any ideas? This is driving me crazy...

    so you have /sdcard/nandroid/BCDMRSxxxxxxx

In there, you should have something like this:

    nandroid.md5
    data.tar
    system.tar
    boot.img

Is that what you see? And this backup was made with nandroid and not touched in any other way?

Yes, this backup was made using nandroid - nothing else. I have /sdcard/nandroid/BCDMRS-20100203-0427, and in this directory, I have the following:

    nandroid.md5
    boot.img
    misc.img
    recovery.img
    cache.tar
    data.tar
    system.tar

Are those extra files having causing any problems? Also, I made the backup following the instructions in another thread. These instructions had me make an Advanced Nandroid Backup and I checked boot, cache, data, misc, recovery, and system.

    Thanks for the help.

Open up nandroid.md5 in a text editor, are there entries for all of those files? Also ... try to restore just boot.img, data.tar, system.tar

Yes, nandroid.md5 has entries for all of those files.

I've tried to restore just boot.img, data.tar, and system.tar before and got the same message (status 28). To mix things up, I just removed all files except bootm.img, data.tar, and system.tar from the nandroid folder, and now it gives me a status 25 error instead of a status 28 error.

I read in another post to try doing a data wipe first, but if this doesn't work, I don't want to be stuck w/o my data/settings. Maybe this is the only way though?

You might have to do an advanced restore using the same checked info you used when you did the advanced backup.

Use a sfv checking app to test that the checksums match so you know the files are not corrupt, quicksfv for example if you run windows.
