One to many sub folders. Make sure it is /sdcard/nandriod/smokedglassv4.0/filesforrom and not /sdcard/nandroid/smokeglassv4.0/smokeglassv4.0/filesforrom .
Also make sure you unzipped it. Just saying that cause you didn't stat it in your post.

I'm not sure I follow, are you doing a nandroid restore? or an update.zip?

AndExplorer is what I use. Just have to click on the file and it will ask you to unzip.

Yes, nandroid backup files don't go in the root directory like the update.zip file. Also, as mentioned, you have to extract the files before putting them in the nandroid folder. Additionally, the files need to be in a folder within the nandroid folder.

Its is mainly because there are too many folders. Download the smoked glass. zip file into your computer. Extract it. Open the extracted folder on your PC to make sure that there is no other folder in it. The folder that you place in the nandroid on the sd card should only contain image files like system.tar and no folders.

    hope this helps

Make sure you put the folder in the "nandroid" folder on your sdcard. Also if it has folders within it, what are in the folders? Did you get the nandroid version or update.zip or clockwork edition?

Sounds to me like you download the update.zip version of Ultimate Droid. Those files are not normal for a standard sprecovery format. The files would be system.tar boot.img MD5 data.tar.

Simply rename the file as update.zip and place on the root of you sdcard. Boot into recovery and install update.zip.
