I'm trying to follow these instructions: YouTube - motodroidlife's Channel

When I get to the part where I click "Perform restore" it gives me the error "Nandroid exited with status 21"

Errr... what do I do now?

look at sig for error codes.

EDIT: mount sdcard and mass storage, connect to computer and take the space out of the folder name.

maybe you can help me out...

i've been trying to get bb .8 on my phone (i have 1.1, but it's pretty buggy for me. buncha FC on bootup and what not..)

i keep getting a 28 error... corrupted data.. i've tried downloading it numerous times, but always the same error.

any ideas? i've tried renaming the folder, making sure there are no spaces... one thing that i'm wondering is (NOOB ALERT) is, do i have to also throw the update.zip file into the nandroid folder? that's the only thing i haven't tried. let me know, and thanks for your intelligence

How big is the file? Make sure it's like 100+MB for the Nandroid. I forget what size it is because his v9 only has update.zip so I don't have access to the old Nandroid. I would guess it's close to 130mb. Are you trying to download via your phone? If so, do it from your computer, a lot of times it won't download the file correctly to the phone for a file that big.

    oh wow, .9 looks awesome!

well, i only see the update.zip option... previously he had a seperate "nandroid download link" and an "update.zip" download link.... am i completely missing something?

i'll try downloading the update.zip, extracting it, placing it onto my phone (via computer, not through phone) and see if that works out...

and thank you thank you THANK YOU matthew... you are quite a swiss army knife when it comes to this kinda stuff... i cant even imagine the amount of people you have helped on this forum

No don't extract the update.zip, it won't work.

Basically what you need to do (until he uploads a nandroid install) is follow my guide, install v.8, then the second to last step you can use the update.zip. All the links are current in my guide.

ok, following this post that you set up (which is awesome)
    http://www.droidforums.net/forum/ha...-phone-2-1-rom-o-c-mm-boot-animation-etc.html

    i don't see the
    system.tar (about 90MB), data.tar (about 40MB), nandroid.md5.. instead i have boot.img, a data folder, nandroid.md5, and a system folder...

do i have to go into those folders and pull out the individual files to throw them into folder i created on the sd/nandroid/buglessbeast2.1?

well, i'm extracting them onto my desktop. that's what i'm getting... since my uncompress doesn't allow me to extract to anyplace except where it is, maybe that has something to do with it? i doubt it, but heeeey, weirder things have happened...

what do you mean? the files i mentioned or the ones that are mentioned in your post?
