Mt droid has developed the run away non responsive screen. Right in the middle. I got things working enough this morning to make a nandroid back up of current state. I'm going to flash a non rooted 2.1 later so I can go to the Verizon store and or call them.

I still I'm reading about changing Recovery consoles.

I was wondering when I get my new phone if I can just install my sd card, root and install the back up and it work. I know I might have to run a new kernel because not all phones like the same kernels.

Any input would be great. I did a good bit of research but was coming up short.

    Thanks Nate

As long as you have the same recovery, it should work. *Backups are recovery specific. The only other one I know of that will work for clockwork and SP backups is RaidZero's recovery.
