Just bought a new vehicle with the MyFordTouch and Sync. Still learning the in's and out's of it. But I am having an issue. When my Maxx is paired to the system I do not get text message notifications on my phone or as it is supposed to do, through the MyFordTouch system. The messages are there in my inbox but I no longer get any notification audible or even in my status bar. Anyone have the MyFordTouch and Sysc that can shed some light on this???

I too just bought a Ford truck with Sync, but mine seems to be working correctly. Have you visited the Ford's Sync web site for troubleshooting. Here is a link: Support Topics: SYNC Technology | Ford.com

Haven't got around to that yet. So you get text notification through the MyFordTouch??? And no issues getting notifications on your phone???

Yeah, no issues. I get the text notification, on the phone and on the vehicle, given a choice to read the text or listen to the text and also the option to respond to the text. Seems to work flawlessly.

Hmmm. Well there goes the dealers theory that it might be phone incompatibility. Of course my salesman isn't thoroughly versed on the in's and out's of the whole system. They actually have a tech specialist that handles the MFT and Sync. Guess I need to go see them.

Yeah I think so. I apologize, I'm still playing around with mine and it's been hit or miss on some of the features so far but the sync between razr and vehicle works as advertised...so far. Wish I could be more help.

No worries. Phone connect and services works just fine. It is the text message issue. And really I am not that concerned with the fact that the MFT doesn't give notification. It is more that when paired I get no notification of text messages on my phone at all. It is like they go straight to the inbox with not tone or notification bar icon.

I have two Fords with MFT and Sync. Both my wife and I have Maxx's and they work fine with both vehicles. Phone and texts come through on the Sync and my phone. If I listen to it on the MFT, it's still on my phone when I check that. I think it's probably some setting in MFT. Both of my vehicles were a bit confusing to set up and were a little bit different in the setup from each other. I don't remember any setting specifically for text messaging though. I just paired the phone and everything worked.

Just a thought. Are you using the stock text message app or a third party one? I use the stock one right now. I've tried GoSMS and Handcent and didn't like them any more than stock so I got rid of them. I don't remember if texts were goofy in the car with them or not.

Is this while you are driving? Maybe a safety feature? They don't want people texting, even through voice, while driving? Just a thought.

I have a 2008 Fusion with Sync and my notifies me. can then hit the command button and say read message, and it will read it to me.

Using the stock messaaging app yes.

As I said I am not really concerned with getting the messages through the MFT. Would be nice but no biggie. My concern is when my Maxx is paired with the MFT I do not even get a notification on my phone of incoming text messages. They go straight to the inbox with no notification at all.
