I noticed verizon update requires you to install a firmware update. If I install the firmware update, will it disable the hotspot feature for the ThunderBolt?
Yes if you upgrade to the latest firmware, it will make the mobile hotspot a paid service. You can deny the updates but there have been reports of phones eventually doing the update without any user interaction, so it might eventually be forced upon you.
I posted on more than one forum just in case I didn't get a response. My sincere apologies if I broke any of the forum rules.
Thanks for the response. I think you may become a prime suspect for an over the air update if you use too much data within a month.
I use an average of 2.2 gb per month. I've heard anything anything above 5 gigs can make you a prime suspect for heavy use. So I'm hoping I slip under the radar.
Sucks that I already ran the update for My Verizon, so I can't use it anymore without running the firmware.
