My phone is an original droid running project elite v4.2 FRG83D. I've been running this rom since it was released, I can't remember how long ago. This used to be the ultimate setup. It was fast, smooth and reliable. This lasted until launcher pro was updated a couple of months ago. Now I get a lot of redraws, force closes, touchscreen sometimes won't respond opening apps and answering calls and battery life is sometimes horrible. I am no longer running launcher pro, I now use adw. I clean cache almost daily and dalvik cache weekly. I've deleted apps. None of this has help. I would like to keep it rooted, but I've considered everything from returning it to stock to selling it and going back to my env touch. Any help in getting my phone back to the beast it once was would be greatly appreciated.

Try doing a complete wipe and fresh install. I use Sourcery Rom for a long time and never had such issues.

Thanks, I didn't think of that. I'm a big fan of project elite roms. I've used several, but this is the longest I've kept a rom. I'll reflash tomorrow and see how it does.

It seems to be doing pretty good now. Hopefully it will stay running like this since I can't upgrade until March.
