    Droid 1 phone?
Do you have a nandroid backup you can restore to?
    Is your battery charged?
If BB was working, what did you try to install, and using which method?

It's not bricked. I was at that point once and I researched here and found that if I download RSD Lite and an SBF(?) file, I could push it and get the phone back to stock. From there it would get the Verizon update, I'd root, then restore to where I was prior.

When you reboot holding the UP on the directional pad, does it prompt for programing?

    bb, for Bugless Beast, sorry.

A mismatched kernel and android version can cause the M bootloop and a drained battery can do the same.

Which recovery tool are you using, Clockwork or SPRecovery? You can apply an update.zip file to get your phone back to stock. You also can use RSD Lite with a windows computer to flash an SBF file to get back to stock.

http://www.droidforums.net/forum/rescue-squad-guides/39254-sbf-root-unroot.html box option 6 has the update.zip file that you can use.

Let us know if that works and there's a real good chance your phone is not toast, if that helps:)

Your phone should now be completely back to stock with that update.zip you applied. If it still doesn't work I'm not sure what might be causing that.

How long have you had the phone for? If it is less than a year you have a warranty that should cover replacing it if something basic like texting can't be fixed.
    When did texting stop working?
Do you think you changed something that caused it to stop working?
Have you tried using alternative texting apps, such as Handcent?

With your phone stock, there should be no problem bringing it to a Verizon store so they can look and see why it isn't texting.

I'd leave the phone as stock for now and see if the texting issue clears up. There are a couple of apps that let you text but behind the scenes they are all using the same protocol. I'm not sure why this would stop working for you, but if no one else posts with a solution I'd call up Verizon and ask them if some phones stop texting while everything else works fine.

I did search "phone wont text" on Google and came across a few things.

In the default messaging app, within settings, there is an option to Auto-Retrieve. That should be checked off. You may have toggled something by accident, another reason to give Verizon a ring to double check what your settings should be. Although, with that update.zip I'd think all your settings were back to factory default settings.

    2 questions on my side:
Do you use Ultimate Juice (or Juice Defender)
And does it occur with ONLY Pix/Flix or is it ALL txt msgs?

I had this problem with Juice Defender. I uninstalled it and it worked fine after that. I went 3 months with VERY intermittent msg sending.

What happens when you TRY to text? Does it give you an error? Finally, is this only with one person? Have you tried a person on a different carrier (Or the same as yours)?

Last time I had a problem sending texts, it was a problem with the network. It took about 24 hours to clear up.
