It was rooted, but that does not matter. I was not over clocked at all. I went to Verizon, but have to wait 4 days for a new one.

If it doesn't matter then you already know what the problem was and the thread was a moot point, sorry for trying to help, cheers.

No the thread is dedicated to see if anyone else had the issue. No need to be a smart ass and pretend you know what you are talking about. Root does not break phones. Its cool not everyone can finish school.

my bet is that you were streaming video netflix hulu youtube or something that is using the processor a lot. on top of that you probably were using it for a long time and the battery would be running low except you had it plugged and so you are sending an electrical charge into the phone on top of using the processor. so your phone got hot and stayed hot and damagEd your phone

See that is the strange part I had nothing running. It was just hooked onto my side and I felt it while I was driving. I have done some searching and found out some people have gotten what they call the Black screen of death.

Anyone else have a Bionic get really hot and will not power on?
That sounds like a defective battery to me. I know there have been a few that died like this and, if I recall correctly, quite a few of them had defective batteries. Just a though.

Good luck.
