My battery life on a school day vs weekend

I noticed my battery gets used up more at school... but why is that? I typically get around 1-2 bars in the school and sometimes no bars when I have class downstairs... could that be the problem? Once I come home, my battery would be around 15%

But on a weekend... I'll be using it as I do at school and I can go for 1 1/2 day without charging it.

Searching for a signal will drain battery life. If you know you're in a place with no service, put it into airplane mode to save battery life.
