Music Player and earbuds

I may be missing something, but the earbuds that shipped with my SGS 3 won't change tracks or pause/play music. The buttons on them do absolutely nothing. Anyone else have this issue?

they adjust the volume and pause what you are listening to if you are using the music player, i just opened mine to check

I am listening to music on my sd card with the stock music app. I am not sure if it is a problem with the headphones or the input.

Also if you double click it will forward to the next song.
