I've noticed when I play music, about once or twice a song the player stops and immediately starts again, almost like it skips a spilt second. I've found this with both with the MIUI player and the stock. Anyone know what's going on?

My theory is something in the background is pulling data and causes a split second interruption. I'm still trying different settings that have to do with data or background services. I'm going to shut off data and see if my theory is correct. I will chime back in as soon as I get results.

I'm having the same problem. I also formated my SD card with no better results.

    Ok, here's my results...
I turned off data, background data and put it in airplane mode, this seemed to decrease the skips down to once every other song. I then thought maybe it's a memory issue so I enabled compcache and reboot, it's only skipped once out of 5 songs so far. Looks like enabling compcache could help reduce the skips.

Edit: Ok, just got 3 skips in one song after having almost none in 10 songs. Hmmmmm. Back to fiddling.

Yeah, I played with it a bit and haven't had any luck. It's not a HUGE issue, it's just a little annoying.

somebody try collecting a logcat while playing music. see if a large garbage collection is called right around the time of the skip, if so that's the issue.

then either post it here, or launch DDMS and try to figure out what the music app is allocating to the point where GC is called.

Yeah I saw talk about this issue in the UD forum... sounds like a GB problem. I just wonder why I didn't start experiencing it until LGB1.7?

I just did a fresh install of 1.7, and switched back to the stock player. Didn't work, but I figured it was worth a shot.

I'm having the same issue in a Froyo build on stock player. So either the ROM uses the GB stock player or its something in the stock player. Never used it before and never had a problem.

Well maybe you could ask chevyno1 when you can, I'm using ss5.2 and the music runs perfectly. I also noticed that I get more ram with his rom... so maybe he could help make liquid perfect!

After flashing 1.8 the problem seems to have gotten worse. I really can't place it. I have at least 50 MB's of free memory and I checked OSMonitor to see if anything was eating CPU but everything checked out there. Liquid, would it be helpful to send you a logcat?

May have found the solution. I changed my minimum clock speed from 125 Mhz to 250 Mhz. So far I've had no skips. OP may wanna try that and see if it helps or if it's just me. Sending logcat anyway just in case this issue arises again.

Update: Still skipping but it seems to be reduced. Still annoying. Logcat sent.
