Music only plays out of one side of headphones

I've been trying to use my dx as an mp3 player but the music only plays out of one side (left). It's not the headphones, they work perfectly fine for everything else except my phone. To be absolutely sure I even tried another pair and I still had the same problem. Whether I'm playing music or watching a youtube video, it still happens.
