I have been experiencing odd behaviors with the music control options recently. I have bTunes and the factory music player on my Droid. I don't think I'm the only person with multiple players either. Ever since SS4.8, the camera/play button would start bTunes and that was ideal for me because bTunes does not automatically start playing music. All the sudden this week, the factory player was starting instead of bTunes. I tried uninstalling the factory player to see if I can get the music controls working with bTunes again. I tried defaulting mp3 files to bTunes. have not had any success yet.

How does the music control know which player to use on phones with multiple music players?

I had the exact same issue with bTunes, and eventually ended up leaving it uninstalled to get music to play back consistently.
