Your internal memory is full. Try clearing out your dialer cache and a few other things and trying again.

When I go to SD card & phone storage setting it shows that I have 6.28GB available for internal storage.

    Still not rooted

I keep trying a bunch of things but still now luck...Here is a brief history

    1. Rooted using z4root on 2.2 release
    2. Forgot to unroot and upgraded to OTA 2.2.1
    3. Tried z4root and no luck (usually spins for hours even after battery pull)
    4. Tried directions in forum...good until copying files to /system/ and receive no space left on device.
    5. Did a factory reset and tried again....same thing

Any help would be greatly appreciated so I can try to check out gingerbread!

SuperOneClick might set you up. Otherwise you'll have to SBF to reset the phone so you can z4root it.

The last update to the Fascinate changed a few things. Do you have the capability of using a program like SuperOneClick?

I updated without removing superuser first, which unrooted me but now I can't remove superuser without a rooting. Only none of the methods for rooting including z4root seem to be working until I remove the old 'superuser permissions' (which is a different superuser app than Z4root uses)

I try to use the above method, but I believe it only works after you are rooted. can anyone help me?

Using DX btw (2.2.1, and 2.3.340)
