That is one unfortunate part of blur apps. Many of them have dependencies on other apps, so what may look like it will work does not necessarily install everything needed. I know the gallery app is required for a lot of blur components, so it is trial and error for the most part.

I installed a Battery Icon mod that also had the CRT animation from the link below. It works fine with DS-X though you will lose the lockscreen sliders that come with DS-X. I chose the "Blue Droid" icon and flashed it in clockwork without any issues at all. Hope this helps.
