It doesn't work on 2.2 currently. Also, the stock keyboard in 2.2 is multitouch, so it's kind of superfluous.

Droid X is shipped with the 2.1 rom. So the keyboard only works on 2.1 roms. There is someone on XDA who is trying to port it to the 2.2, but is having problems with haptic feedback working and some other various issues.

Really? It's not multitouch for me unless this version of BB doesn't support it?

It's been multitouch in every version of Froyo I've tried. I asked on another forum if it was just me and a couple others said it was for them, as well.

Hold down a key on the VKB, and then hold down another before letting go of the first. When you let go of the first key the second one will type. That's a multitouch keyboard.

umm, the stock kb is not multitouch. that's one of the things about the droid x... is that it has it, and others don't

Well, I'm not crazy. It's done that for me since the first Froyo leak and has in every version I've used since. I wish I could take a video but I don't have a camera other than my Droid. Anyway, whatever the case it obviously isn't as good as the Moto KB so I was jumping the gun in calling it superfluous.

It doesn't do that in any FroYo. I think you're crazy :)

The 2.2 kb is definitely not multitouch. I think you're confused about what true multitouch is.

Here is a great example of a multi touch keyboard, and it just so happens to be the one on the X:

I understand what a multitouch keyboard is, I just didn't feel like carrying on this discussion because there's no point to it without evidence, which I can't provide without a second camera. That being said...

I am not saying that the stock 2.2 keyboard will type two keys at the same time, as in the Moto KB, but it WILL register the keypress if you still have another key pressed, i.e. if you press U while you have M down, it won't average out the touch coordinates or ignore the second keypress. It will type U when you let go of M. That is still more multitouch-friendly than 2.1 and lower, and it's what I've been explaining over and over again, while nobody seems to wrap their brains around it.

I think they get it but they are going off the full definition of multi touch. You cannot press the shift key and then press another button and have both register for a capital letter.

Its kind of like flash lite to full flash there is a huge difference but yes some phones have had flash for a while at least a shell of it. You are describing a shell of multi touch people are just saying its not really the full blown version of it.
