I remember one of the old versions of linpack was prone to giving false results from time to time.

If you have to sit around all day trying to get certain scores, then the scores don't mean anything.

I'd like to interject a quick question here since this is relevant to my interests and this thread at the same time...

HOW is anyone getting scores that high in Linpack on a Droid?
My best is a hair under 20Mflops at 1.2Ghz (Chevyno1's 1.25 ULV) on my MotoDroid, but browsing the Linpack top 10, and others, I see people getting multiple times that score, if not hundreds of times multiplied.

So, how is it possible to get that kind of performance - even if only for a second (long enough to run the bench)???

Glitches in the software account for it. That isn't actual performance, it's freak mistakes in the benchmarks themselves.

    Thanks for the clarification.

I suppose what I should have asked was what the normal score is for the MotoDroid.
Looking through the top 10 in each phone category, there's always a couple/three at the top that are literally OUT OF THIS WORLD, followed by a couple that are really high, followed by several that are near/around the same scores.
As a computer tech, I totally understand how and why some softwares can glitch and give false readings, I just wasn't aware that these phones were subject to the same thing.

On my BB 0.21/NexTheme/Chevyno1 1.25 ULV (running at 1.1GHz)
I get just over 1600 in Quadrant and just under 20MFlops in Linpack...are those normal scores??

    Again, thanks for the input.

Yes, your scores are right on point. I usually get a little faster in linpack but nothing to worry about every phone is different.

I was wondering the same about the top 10 seeing people getting 40's 50's when on 1ghz bb v.2.1 i'm pulling 15.2 to 15.6. Then quadrant I have high 12's low 13's . To see some of those top ten scoresI didn't know what to think.

NOS? I want some. OK, he will redeem himself by posting 5 screen-shots of the test "in a row" Besides, that is the top linpack score in the android app. It is the same score in the app at 386.667. So OP, You must be Colin Lon g beach yes?

Your getting better scores than the top linepack score? Nah, you would have posted that in linepack and been proud. Prove us wrong, post it in linepack, and give us a screen shot.

Could someone PLEASE help me understand what Linpack is all about? That, plus I d/l'ed it from the market and the app looks nothing like the screenshot that ts posted, nor does it give me half the information that ts posted.
