Moving from D1 to D2

I'm getting a D2 this week. I wondering if I should take the 16gb card from my D1 & put it in the D2. Or copy everything from the 16gb card to the new 8gb card then format the old card. I'm giving my D1 away & don't want the new person to have any of my personal data.

I'd keep the 16 GB card just because it has more storage space. Put the 8 GB card in the D1 and let the recipient have it.
