    i got a moto droid.
I know the video file has to or should be mp4

I download mp4 blu ray rips that range in 1.5 to 4 gigs in size,

I have tried converting one of the files down to size, ended up around 800mb i got sound but no video, i used format factory or something like that.

Can someone link me to a free converter that would convert these files so they would be playable? thanks!

DVDCatylst has a trial version to output Droid compatible MP4s.
The audio but no video issue is most likely due to too high a resolution, try reducing the video resolution. You can also play AVIs on the Droid with the new RockPlayer. You can create the AVIs, and MP4s for that matter, with various freewares on your PC... SUPER © being one of those,
