Hey I want to move my files around inside my phone, but I forgot my charger (USB) so I can't use windows explorer to do so-

Is there an app or a way to move files around?

I have a .rom on the SDCard but want to move it into system/bin.

    Thank you!

Try RootExplorer. It a paid app via the Market. Only works for rooted devices but it gets you into the OS.

I've never been able to access my OS with ASTRO. It seem to only work for files on my SD card.

I'm not familiar with Explorer. In RootExplored, if you want to change or replace something in the OS you need to tap the R/W. Typically, when you first open this app it defaults to R/O.

If you use Terminal Emulator, you can move any file anyplace you want (but you will need to remount /system to be read-write before you can write to it).

The question is - why do you want to put a .rom file in /system/bin? /system/bin is for system executable files. a ROM file isn't executable. /system is VERY tight on space - are you sure you want it there? the sd card would be a better place for a file like that, or if you really have to have it on the phone and not the card, you should have more space on /data.

    I thought I installed busybox!?
if not, can someone just link me to the file- nothin' else.. just the file link- no weird webpages.

Can you link to where somebody told you that a rom needs to go in /system/bin?

busybox needs to go in /system/bin - busybox is an executable that handles useful system functions, like copying files, etc. I'm not sure what rom you're referring to or what you're trying to do with it.

Installing busybox isn't an easy task, really. You'll need to learn adb and/or the Terminal Emulator program and manually install it (or get an app that does it for you). The alternative is to just get a ROM that does it for you and install it. There are lots of threads explaining how to do each of those things.

In Astro, long press the file you want to move, choose "Edit" then choose "Move." Go to the desired location and press "Edit" on the top of the screen and press "Paste."

Edit: Just saw that you tried this... Sorry

Metamorph is not needed for this. The thread that linked to that file has specific step-by-step instructions on installing it. Basically, you need to put the file in /sdcard and reboot.

    http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-hacks/26193-rom-tgz-smoked-glass-v5-0-big-update-02-27-a.html

I could be wrong, but the only way I've seen to move files to the root of the SD card is via USB (mounting the SD card), Terminal Emulator (typing in the copy command manually), or with Root Explorer (I think that is what it is called). (EDIT: I was wrong - normal file explorers can write to the root of the sdcard, /sdcard)

You said you don't want to plug it into the computer, so that gives you two options. I'm going to assume you probably don't want to learn linux commands to move the file, so that leaves Root Explorer. You can download that from the market (I don't think it's free). There's another app called "Android Mate" I just found that is free and says it includes a root explorer. You can try that one as well.
