I'm using the smoked glass v.5beta rom.

I'm trying to mount a remote samba share on my phone (assuming this is possible)

Running mount how I normally would:

    mount -t cifs -o username=USER,password=PASSWORD //192.1681.5/music /sdcard/music

    just replied back with

mount: mounting //192.168.1.5/music on /sdcard/music failed: No such device

I noticed that after I made the /sdcard/music directory that the permissions are ---rwxr-x, and when I chmod it to 777 it doesn't change.

    Any ideas?

    using terminal emulator and busybox:

    su (gain root)
    chmod 0777 /data
    mkdir /data/portal
    busybox insmod cifs
    mount -t cifs //<ip>/<share>$ /data/portal -o username=<user>,password=<password>

let us know if this works for you. (my phone is totally dead. I actually used it for a bunch of calls today [IMG] )

Same thing, failed: no such device

I also couldn't execute the busybox insmod cifs command, it errors out with

insmod: can't read 'cifs': no such file or directory

Could smoked glass's kernel be compiled without cifs support?

Could someone tell me if they have tun.ko or cifs.ko inside their /system/lib/modules directory?

And if so, what rom you are running? I can't seem to install it on SGv5 and I want to see if any other roms include it.
