Is there a way to mount the Droid 1's internal system memory using a pc via the usb cable? I don't mean mounting the sd card, but the droid itself. This would make it much easier to manage files on a rooted phone. Has anyone succeeded in doing this?

So far I tried droid explorer on windows 7 pro, and phone could not be recognized. Tried it on an xp box and no trouble recognizing phone. All folders showed up and I could browse some of them but could not browse \data and some others as I can in root explorer. How do you enable that?

I am using W7 ultimate x64 on my desktop and am able to use both of the programs. With Droid Explorer, it installs drivers by default. Did you install those? Because those can cause problems apparently, I did this myself initially. You will want to have the Moto drivers installed.

About the browsing, are you doing this in recovery by chance?

Thanks, it was a driver issue. I'm not doing it in recovery and from reading elsewhere it seems that you have to use the terminal editor to get rw permissions on certain folders like the \data folder in droid explorer. I have to figure out what the command line is for doing that - I'm not a linux person!
