I dont know why people hate on the BLUR. I mean yeah its a bit bland but it isnt meant to be pretty either. Its there to make some things easier and I like it, its better than vanilla. I see it as .45 and 9mm, .45 is BLUR and the 9mm is the pansy ass Sense UI. Bad analogy i know but thats how i see it.

Says the guy with a MOTO phone..lol Wow bet no one thought you would have that opinion. Blur sucks

"... quietly using its platform customizations to collect stats on app usage and how different processes affect processor utilization and battery life"

What other info is closed source blur quietly collecting so Moto may one day use?

my thoughts exactly!

Next press conference he will come out and tell us something like "After looking over the data collected from Blur devices, we have determined that the main cause of battery drain on these devices is..... internet porn.:icon_ banana:"

The CEO is a moron. What I find amazing is that Droid 1, when updated supported Exchange W/ Pin Security just fine. However, since the inclusion of MotoBlur Crap it is erratic and often doesn't sync.

He needs to understand Motoblur is garbage. I install ADW instantly and will do on anyones phone that asks for continued support from me.

MotoBlur is a complete pos and I would never run it on my phone... that said, if all the non-advanced users run it for data collecting and Motorola actually starting publishing a blacklist of bad apps, I would def support that!

3rd party apps are the reasons we have to charge our phones yet Motorola still packs their phones with bloatware and a new battery usage widget on top of that, calling it motoblur. Motorola is crap.

Blur sucks. Motorola sucks for cramming blur down our throats, locking bootloaders, and refusing to listen to its loyal customers. I said goodbye to those idiots several months ago and picked up a thunderbolt.

Apps can have significant effects. Download the Fort Worth Star Telegram app, and the Fox News app. Watch what happens to performance on the OG. Poorly programmed apps can ef up phone performance. If you have Gingerbread you can watch for culprit apps on your phone just by taking a look at running services. If you haven't ran an app, and it just wakes itself up anyway and starts running in the background, there's a good bet that is probably an app you wouldn't want on your phone.

Most of these news websites have crappy apps, but also have mobile versions of webpages that work just as well, and won't stink up the phone. So I just bookmarked the mobile version of the webpages I like that called it a day.

Even though I don't like giving much credit to Moto (after the OG Droid, they are double dog dicks) they are correct in pointing out that crappy apps will have a negative effect on phone performance.
