I am new to the Motorola Droid and i purchased the phone from a friend who has the device rooted and loaded with Android Version 2.2 and Kernel Version 2.6.32.9-p3 droids. There are a few pre-installed applications that i would like to get rid of, is this possible. (Amazon MP3, News & Weather, Youtube) Also i have it overclocked and have "SetCPU" installed. Im mainly looking for battery life performance since the phone performance is amazing, does anyone know some perfered settings to get this accomplished. Also since im new to this any additional tips i could use would be appreciated!

As far as removing unused apps, you can download Titanium Backup which has a section where you can delete installed programs, including system programs like AmazonMp3, Corp Cal, etc.
