2.1 has not been released yet and only certain phones needed the 2.0.1 update again that a few people have had recently.

im just saying people are recieving this maintenance update. and i have not....

Guess Ill ask again since it got buried a few pages back. I have the new gallery installed and the weather widget. Would it be advisable to uninstall those before accepting the 2.1 update or no?

you don't have to... but I would (and will) uninstall any 2.1 apps just to avoid any potential issues.
