Motorola Droid 2.1 No Text Vibrate

I already did a factory reset and went to Messenging > Settings > Vibrate. Is there a different setting?

UPDATE: I e-mailed verizon and they said it's not a "known" issue.

UPDATE (Oct. 26): I went to VZW today and according to them, it is a well known problem with the Motorola Droid and Droid 2. They are sending me a replacement to see if it helps.

Yes it vibrates when I get a call

i have the same vibrate problem with 2.2. my droid has the ability to vibrate for different functions and when i get calls, but not when i get a text message. i have previously done a factory reset. any help?

i had this issue way back when i first got my droid in January. It wouldn't vibrate when i'd get a text. but it would still vibrate when i get a call and such. I searched around a lot for a fix, and this is what i did to fix it. I actually just downloaded audiomanager from the market. And use that to make your notification sound settings. It worked after that. Sounds weird but you guys could try it out?

That application still didnt work, but i started using handent and it at least vibrates sometimes now.
