    So I keep getting bugged about the 2.2 update, I chose to allow it just to see what it would do and obviously it failed and it stopped bothering me, now today I keep saying update later then bugs me again in an hour. How do I tell it to eff off permenantly.

    Also I noticed something, it talks about flash being on the market with this new update, even though im already on 2.2 I don't see flash on the market. Should I update the phone to a new 2.2 manually?

    What 2.2 are you on? Go to Settings, About Phone and see...

    FRG22D is the latest version and allows you to see Flash in the market.

    Since you are rooted (install fails) what ROM are you running. If running stock but rooted, install the FRG22D (make sure it's the 'D' not just 22) rooted ROM on top of what you have.

    If you are running something else...you need to look at their solution or update.

    I know that there were issues with some of the early 2.2 roms not being recognized by the market and thus the market was not displaying all the apps. There are even some patches floating around here on the forums. But a better fix would be to check with BB and see if they have an update to the FRG22D, if not you may want to check out other roms.

    If you re-boot your phone you will continue to get the update...

    Peter (creator of Bugless Beast) is still working on stopping the updates. I don't have the update right now but if I restart my phone it comes back.

    I am also having problems with battery life on my Droid but that's besides the point... lol

    If you are running Chevy's SS 4.7, check my sig for an easy fix. If any other ROM, here ya go.

    1. In Root Explorer, go to /system/
    2. Tap Mount R/W at the top, then long-press on build.prop and scroll down to Open in Text Editor
    3. Once the file is open as a text file, scroll down until you see the line that says: "ro.build.fingerprint=verizon/voles/sholes/sholes:2.2/FRG01B/45394:user/release-keys" and change it to read as follows:
    ro.build.fingerprint=verizon/voles/sholes/sholes:2.2/FRG22D/50454:user/release-keys
    4. Tap the back key and say "Yes" when it asks you to save (it will automatically back up the original file for you)
    5. Tap Mount R/O at the top
    6. Reboot

    **NOTE** If you dont see ro.build.fingerprint=verizon/voles/sholes/sholes:2.2/FRG01B/45394:user/release-keys or it is different in some way, just make it turn into ro.build.fingerprint=verizon/voles/sholes/sholes:2.2/FRG22D/50454:user/release-keys

    And im pretty sure even if you use BB or any other ROM, my sig link will work for you. It will just say the name of your ROM is Chevy instead of BB.
