Not exactly sure where to post this but since im using a bionic ill put it here. Why dont android manufactures make more "nexus" phones? Being unlocked bootloader and stock android and all. Im sure it must be for monetary gain but it seems that if say moto put out a nexus device it would sell well so why do they not?

Google chooses the manufacturer to build the nexus phones. Moto has agreed to unlock the bootloader on their phones, however the carriers usually don't let this happen because users can mess their phones up if careless. One of the beuatiful things about the nexus is that the carrier that accepts the phone agrees to have it unlocked as condition for offering it.

As for why they do not offer the same ui tweaks as stock android it is for a competitive advantage over other android phones. Motoblur and HTC Sense are an effort to improve the UI (although many do not like them) similar to the differing user experiences between custom roms here on the forums... many times what sets them apart are the graphical tweaks. Every phone would be essentially the same except for hardware if they all used the exact same OS. Why would anyone NOT buy the best specwise phone then? So yes money is essentially the reason in an attempt to make android better. This is the kind of thing google encourages, however and is what makes open source nice.

The bloatware that is found are mostly carrier added for monetary gain. They also claim it increases user experience having verizons back up assistence for example helps all customers migrating from a non android phone keep their contacts.
