Who is in charge of keeping things safe for us? Google & Android? Our carriers? Motorola? Samsung?

"Hackers" are only effective when the person who has been "hacked" is not vigilant. Remember those warnings when you downloaded that istealurpersonalinfo.exe turns out it means something.

Common sense should be the one in charge. Nobody should expect other people to hold their hands, in my opinion.

You, for not downloading anything that you don't trust.

This pretty much^^

Google has taken action, back in the summer (I think) when a host of malicious apps were found, Google nuked them from the market/our phones.
