[MM Theme] HexFusion for 2.1 (ERE25 and ESE53)

    Updated 3/16: launcher2 now themed

step 1: Read this post completely before attempting!!!
step 2: Read this post again
step 3: Read everything in this post before trying this metamorph theme
This is for 2.1 (ERE25 and ESE53) builds ONLY!!
this has only been tested on Petes BBv0.4 and BBv0.5 and BBv0.6 (2.1 ERE25 and ESE53 build)

Well, there are many themes out now and personally i like different parts of each one, so i made HexFusion. This theme combines DROIDHEX (credit to johnnybueno), High Res Blue (credit to mjones1052), and SmokedGlass (credit to AdamZ), and a few mods by me: cleaner power control widget, statusbar shade that gets lighter or darker as you slide it, custom font, and a few others. This has only been tested with Petes BB v0.4 and v0.5 and v0.6 (2.1 ERE25 and ESE53 build) so as you all have heard many time before: "use at your own risk, I am not responsible for any shiny bricks."

This will change your clock and notifications to white

If you want your original font back - google it, there are many threads

I am not a dev, so no crazy requests I just put this theme together and really liked it so i thought i would share

Let me know of any other "Fusions" you would like to see.

Note: Using MM with 2.1 is different than on 2.0.1 so read and follow directions very carefully - you have been warned :)

In order for Maps, Facebook, googlevoice, to apply these must be in /system/app/ !!!!!!!!!!
If you downloaded these from the market (or installed from sdcard such as WifiTether) you must busybox cp them to /sdcard/ rename to Maps.apk, Facebook.apk, googlevoice.apk, (this IS case sensitive), uninstall the applications using market or an app manager, then busybox cp the apk's to /system/app/

you must use adb shell (with your computer) for this to work

    Directions:
    1. download HexFusionxxxxx.zip and place in /sdcard/AndroidThemes/

    2. for this to work you first must copy framework-res.apk to the root of your sdcard (/sdcard/framework-res.apk)
    command:
    adb shell
    su
    mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
    busybox cp /system/framework/framework-res.apk /sdcard/

    3. kill all running tasks using a task killer before running MM

    4. apply this theme using metamorph. if your phone reboots randomly (without asking you) the MM theme did not apply completely so you must run MM again.

    5. when it's done it will ask you if you want to reboot, tap on NO

    6. using adb shell again (make sure the system is mounted rw, see above)
    command:
    busybox cp /sdcard/framework-res.apk /system/framework/
    reboot

    7. all done

    SWEET:icon_ banana:
Just getting ready to finally make the jump to the 2.1 BB from v1.2. One of the things I was waiting for was themes. This looks great!!!! (I've been using smoked glass so this is a nice sub, actually like it better!)!

Have you tried it on Pete's release from today (v.06 based on the ese53 build)?

    Hi

Hey guys, i'm on petes .6 e53 and it's working great so far. I do have one request. For the matrix green, type theme color. I would love you forever! Or if some1 could direct me how to convert this to green with the authors permission i'd be grateful!:icon_ banana:

Hey paulmiller_19, great work! Thanks. I'm running BB ver0.6 ESE53 and applied this with no problems with your instructions. Thanks for the great work.

Hey paul for some reason this didn't work for me. I'm on koush's cyanogenmod rom, and I followed your instructions to a tee...and guess what wasn't there? Framework-res.apk!! Lol

Awesome job and thanks for posting the steps to install on the ERE24 based ROMs; it also works on Pete's v0.6 ESE53 ROM as well.

The best part of this for me are the subtle Trek symbols I'm finding in random spots.

I could be completely wrong as I'm new to this and teaching myself as I go but I think there is some different framework-res files in the cyanogenmods. I was playing with it last night and I could not push the framework I wanted to use even though it was 2.1 and worked on Pete's ESE53; I had to extact his and put the .png files in to make it work. I gave up when trying to update the service.jar,

Pete's and Cyanogen's frameworks are definitely not compatible. This theme is a lot more than just changing different pictures, there are a lot of edited xml's and such. i'll play around with cyanogenmod for a bit but don't get your hopes up.

You did a really good job on this Fuse.... I liked the Idea so much that I decided to fuse this and the flavored ice theme (lemon) on alldroid and this is what I got.

    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Of course, all I did was fuse these together so I take no credit for anything but that.
And, just because I'm a nice guy, here is my mm theme for you guys!!
    Share and Share alike.......

EDIT: oops just realized you probably don't want my launcher skin, so just apply the launcher skin off the original.... Sorry guys, gotta go

    You can get it HERE
