Missing emergency dialing icon

The Droid user manual I found online says there there's supposed to be an emergency dial icon on the lock screen (and I guess the Phone page, too) but I don't see this. Is the manual foobar or is my phone misconfigured or ....?

On the slider lock screen or the pattern lock screen? (which I don't use)

I'm not sure what the pattern lock screen is. I'm talking about the one that shows up if I press the idle/off button on the end to put it to sleep and then again to wake it up.

The emergency call icon only presents itself when you have a pattern set to unlock the phone. In this case, if there was an emergency, another user will be able to place a call without knowing your pattern to unlock the phone.

menu>settings>location & security>set unlock pattern
