Missing Apps After Update to Nougat

We have a Samsung Galaxy S7.

After updating to Nougat, several apps disappeared from the home screen, possibly also from the phone itself. Although we try to add the available apps back to folders with the Add button, they don't stay.

How can we fix this?

There are several that have updated since we installed Nougat that only appear in the Apps menu (the 3x3 square of dots). No matter how we try to add them to the home screens, these apps don't stay there.

That would be a huge pain to handle. There are over 200 apps on this phone, at least 30 of which disappeared from the home screens, and of those 30, at least 15 have numerous personal additions and adjustments.
We think Google/Android needs to patch the OS.

Try deleting 1 that has no personal additions. If it doesn't start working right then it's not the update at fault.
Are you using any privacy apps? Are you using any security apps? It could be they are not playing nice with the update and not the apps that won't add right themselves.

Trend Micro says it's not their app. Are there any problematic privacy or security apps you've heard about?
