Since we appreciate our health-conscious members here at DroidForums, we wanted to share this slightly off topic news leak with you folks.

If the above leaked image of the second generation Microsoft Band is legitimate, then their next product is a great deal more aesthetically pleasing than the first gen. The OG Microsoft Band wasn't too terrible to look at, but it definitely had that "I'm a fitness watch" design queue.

The image you see above actually has a pleasing style that could make it stand out from the pack. The Microsoft Band is one of the most capable fitness devices on the market. If Microsoft can pack in even more functionality to go along with this new look, they might have a real competitor for this niche of devices. What do you folks think?

The first-gen Band ticked off A LOT of the boxes for me...

    - phone OS agnostic (works on 3 platforms)
    - real time HR
    - sleep tracking
    - GPS
    - reasonably good app and web interface/dashboard
    - reasonably good step and calorie estimation

Unfortunately, mine completely disintegrated after about 9 months. So I hope Band 2 not only has a curved display, which will really help with comfort and plain old style (!), but that they also improve the build quality a bit.

At this point I'm going to sit on the sidelines until we know more about the Moto 360 Sport, which I favor at the moment. However, if the Sport doesn't have native sleep-tracking (not interested in 3rd party which would kill the battery), full-time HR tracking, and decent battery life, it's the Band 2 for me. :)
