Why is it that i have texting sounds off but yet it continues to use "DROID" ringtone, all sounds are silent except for ring tones... HELP please

Your Phone Model will be helpful -

When is it making the Droid Notification while silenced...during an incoming text ?

Also is the Droid sound set as your Notification sound - and if so do you experience the same effect while using a different notification sound ?

not in silent mode, but i have message tone to silent as well as notification tone, its also silent. it only does it for incoming text so far

You should be able to track down what the notification is and adjust the notification. What pops up on the notification bar when you hear the tone? Go into that app and adjust its notification settings.
