    maylong rom install through root?

I am very computer savvy and have updated three other of my Archos tablets with new roms. However, the maylong 105 i bought my wife will not update from an sd. I load the entire script file onto the card, put it in the 105, turn it on, and it just boots normally. I used both a 2gb card and a 4gb card, both class 4, with no good results. Can i just load the new rom onto the units root and then erase after it updates? I just don't want to brick my wifes 105.
    Thanks for any help!

Is this a 105 or a 150 your'e talking about? It might make a difference.

I agree. Mine is an M-150 and it is easy to upgrade the roms. An M-105 sounds like a different model, and that one may not have a rom which can be modified.
