bootloader unlock code.
Got ya. Didn't realize one could input a code to unlock the bootloader. Are they device specific or will one work on multiple devices?

Device specific. There was a leak of numbers, most like an employee, who was selling the codes for $30 a pop. A bunch of us got in on it. That was last year.

Doing some research and educating myself on unlocking the bootloader. I'm determined to root and possibly unlock this device is possible

If Sunshine doesn't do it, then I don't think you'll have any luck.

Maybe an upgrade device wise will be in the works in that case. I feel I'm about due anyway lol

Nexus 6, the new Moto X Pure Edition are ones that I know of. I'm not sure if the Galaxy S6 is rootable.

I've never owned a nexus but have heard they are great devices. Coming from moto devices with long battery life can I expect the same?

Also on the battery issue my phone will randomly restart itself. It happens pretty regularly but random. Could this be contributing to my battery issues?

Yes, rebooting will eat battery.

It's not something that happens every day but happens every few days some days multiple times. Would this call for a fdr?

I would try it. I've FDR'd a couple of times this year. Make sure you install apps slowly to see if one is causing a problem.

Thank you so very much I realize this thread has taken off lol. Very appreciated all the info you have given me. Will definitely slowly install apps. So when I fdr I should uncheck auto back up right?
