For those of you who have overclocked their Droid and are using the Temp Monitor app, what's the hightest temperature you've had so far? I'm curious to know how much of a difference 100 mhz really makes regarding heat output (such as going from 900mhz to 1ghz). I know that there are a lot of other factors that go into this, but I'd still like to get a feel.

Where are you getting this info? This chip is supposed to operate from -40º to 220º. When mine is in the car cradle plugged in it has gotten to 120º before. No problems.

I have my profile set to slow down when sleeping, I've opened it after not using it for an hour or two to find it down to 68º. It varies, but it can take the abuse.

Where did you get the information for the 220 or whatever? So you think at 950mhz it will be ok getting up to 120 degrees when playing games for 20-30 minutes?

If not, maybe I will just scale it down right before I play a game or something. It does get pretty hot. Makes my hands sweat all over the place.

Very interested to know what you guys have all your profile settings at... Can someone walk me thru that? Should I just leave it alone? I'm interested in what people are saying about setting it lower when not in use/sleep... just don't know how to do it...

Max temp for chip is for chip. I doubt that board support more than 85 (C)degres...

Doing what though? Mine idles around 70 degrees. But after playing a game for like 30 minutes or more it gets as high as 120.

People need to understand the difference between Fahrenheit and Celsius. 100+ temps at F are perfectly safe and normal for a processor.

Best choice is to put it at 250/250 for sleep, 550/250 for less than 25% so when you get low battery it doesn't die as fast, 550/250 for the temperature (45 C I'd say), 550/250 while charging (for increased heat), and 800 or 950/250 for in-use on the main screen, that's what I have at least, but it seems that my Droid gets warmer than most...

Does anyone know what the acceptable temperature range is for the Droid's processor (and can provide a link)?
