Does anyone understand why the HTC Rezound lists total of 817.3 MB ram (AnTuTu specs), but is advertised for 1 GB ram?

Part of that 1gb of ram is used to run the os and gpu same as with a computer.

The UI must be a hog then, because I was at 900+ with my Bionic. Just sayin.

probably doesn't matter either way, phone still runs like a beast (the rezound that is)

I find it unusual for the OS to reserve memory. What part of the OS reserves the RAM?

Also, the GPU thing is very likely to reduce RAM if the GPU doesn't have GPU RAM, which will cause it to use the RAM on the device.

That leaves 200 MB of missing ram. Is the GPU using 200 MB? That's excessive especially considering that Desktop's require less GPU RAM.
