Market downloads problem

I keep trying to download and update, but certain apps and not installing. It keeps saying error -18. Its both everything but things I already had wont update either. Any suggestions?

Did you fresh install the rom? If so doing factory reload fixed the market problems for me

The non-updating apps, are they on your SD card?

This problem has been pissing me off for quite some time. I tried uninstalling market updates, clearing market data/cache, resetting phone, unmounting sd card, and nothing worked until I found:

Issue 9593 - android - Market updates do not work for SD-installed apps on froyo - Project Hosting on Google Code

I just deleted this file and everything worked peachy again:
(I had to do it from my pc though because its a hidden file)

\sdcard\.android_secure\smdl2tmp1.asec

They're not on my sd card. And some of them im just trying to download to begin with
