If this is already here....sorry....couldn't find it.....

I want to use Photoshop to make some jpg's to display in my contacts so I can use them for speed dial as well as have them pop up in caller ID.

I don't want to use actual pictures of the people (most of them are long distance and folks I work with), just logos and stuff I create.

I need to know the following..........

    1) File size (W x H)
    2) Background default transparency color
    3) Save them in a separate file on the SD card?
    4) Anything else you pros know that I need to know but don't know to ask.

I know how to start in Photoshop with say 300 dpi and than reduce the resolution as necessary so I don't really need Photoshop instruction, just any specific "moves" that might make this project easier.

    Thanks in advance......

I've edited, but not to a specific size.

Crop your pics down a bit, load them to your gallery, then use the phone to add them, see what kind of pic you get on the phoone, then crop in the phone itself.

Afterwards I've found you can remove the pic you used from the gallery itself, the "contact" pic is stored elsewhere after you process it in the contact list.

    From what I've found.........

Photoshop, RGB, 96 x 96 pixels, work in 300 dpi (or so), save to SD Card as jpg.

They won't look great when yoou call them. The phone only allows 96 x 96 pixels than blows it up on the dial screen bigger than the 240 x 240 desktop icons.

They'll always be a little "fuzzy" I guess.

you can use any pic on your SD card. the phone has enough coding to know what to do with larger images.

when you take a pic with the camera, they're 5MP in size. you can attach those images to a contact, so why not any image?

    Well documented problem elsewhere.

If you sync with Google the images will be resized to 96 x 96 automatically.

Maybe if you don't sync then the images will be sharper, but I'm more of a substance over style kind of guy...........
