Is it possible to make an app a system app (such as facebook, etc) so that it is uninstallable? I have a good security app that I installed in case my phone is stolen and I'd love to hide it just in case the person who steals it has half a brain.

the only way i know how to do this is with the home replacement "panda home". it allows you to hide crap you dont want to look at from the app drawer. i really miss that feature!

If the app you're talking about is MobileDefense, then go to their forums and there is a tutorial on how to make it a system app.

Actually it's a program called Lookout. It has less options than Mobile Security but it doesn't use SMS messages to communicate, which is way more intuitive and discrete. The auto-backup is nice too.

Root your droid

Install app in location of your choice.

Un-root.
