Made "Custom" Icons (Pic inside); Size issues?

Here are the icons I made the other night:

Does Bettercut automatically resize the icons or does Android restrict the size? I've tried resizing to many dimensions but they always appear the same.

they need to be 72x72 (99% sure) or 128x128...that looks like you used 48x48 and it stretched them..if you are using 72x72 or bigger than im not sure what would cause the blur.

The blur isn't what I'm concerned about, it's the fact that no matter what dimensions I size the icons to, they don't appear bigger on the phone. Is there a way around this?

Wanted to add that I don't want to have to do this using some app as mentioned in other posts.

No they are reized automatically. I have made all of my icons 64x64. I just did an experiment sizing one at 72x72. Put them side by side and they are the same size.

In my research, I found out that Android resizes icons to the size of the smallest icon in the system. The icons in the app drawer are 48x48. To change the default size, you have to edit an xml file in the Launcher.apk (to my knowledge), but I'm not sure how to do that yet.

I've edited my icons at 75x75 and it resizes them to 72x72. I think that creating icons from scratch would be done larger then shrunk down to maintain a higher res look.

The icons in the app drawer are a different png file for the app
