low volume and static on incoming calls

It started Two ago, I Have Checked The Volume While On A Call And It Is Maxed.

Any Help Would Be Appreciated

Edited to add , if I switchover to speaker the volume is loud and clear.

I am wondering if somehow I pressed something that is muting or lowering the incoming volume.

OK I am embarrassed to post this but in case anyone else gets this issue I figure I should post it.

It seemed that sliding my phone in and out of jacket pockets etc had accumulated dust or lint into every opening the phone had...

cleaned out everything very carefully and all is well now.....
