I am lost and cannot find a guide to help me.

On different sites in find apps that you need to install thru a "terminal" or "push". And I have no clue where to begin. I have downloaded the Android SDK and its all blank from there.

I see things like below, and have no clue whats its taking about.

Can somebody point me to a guide or more info? I am rooted and have Droid Root Pro.

    3. Push to your phone

    adb push AlarmClock.apk /system/app

    4. Sync and unmount

    sync
    mount -o remount,ro -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system"

You would just type the code in exactly how it appears......but however there's a difference between the SDK that you use on your computer and the Terminal Emulator that is on your phone

First try to install the app through Astro. If it is the 2.1 gallery, music etc. you need to rename the existing file to something like music.bak, then move the new app into the folder.

The code for this is as follows in terminal

    su
    mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
    cd /system/app
mv Music.apk Music.bak (or whatever the app is you are trying to change)
    cat /sdcard/Music.apk > /system/app/Music.apk
    sync
    mount -o remount,r -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
